Runway to Realway: Marc Jacobs vs. H&M
The 70s has been a HUGE trend inspiration this season. From high-waisted flares to billowing-sleeved blouses, every corner of the decade has been covered by the runway and the high street.
Marc Jacobs was at the fore-front of this revival. His Spring/Summer '11 show featured models with super-perms and corsages in their hair, strutting down the runway in printed sundresses. Many high street retailers have picked up on this and recreated similar styles.
H&M have done a particularly good job with this halterneck chiffon dress in salmon. Just like at Marc Jacobs, the neckline is intertwined with a lighter coloured material. Unlike the designer version, H&M's version is not midi-length but sits just above the knee.
Style it like the runway by adding a corsage on the waistband, adding platform sandals, heavy eye make-up and a stack of gold bangles on each wrist to complete the 'Studio 54' Disco-Diva look!

Michelle Obama in H&M
FLOTUS (First Lady Of The United States) Michelle Obama, made an appearance on The Today Show with Matt Lauer recently.
She chose to wear a £24.99 H&M navy polka-dot dress, which was sightly modified. 3/4 length sleeves were added to Michelle's dress to cover her impressive arms and the coral ribbon belt was swapped for a wide leather version in the same shade. She added neon-yellow kitten heels to tap into the colour-pop trend.
During the interview, she spoke about her status as a worldwide fashion icon, saying:
"I take it as a compliment but it's not something I focus on".
I love it when Mrs O uses her considerable sartorial power to showcase the best in high street fashion.
Who wore it better? Nicky Hilton vs. Jaime King
At the very same event as Carmen Electra and Brooke Burke, Jaime King and Nicky Hilton also wore the same French Connection dress as each other! Luckily the friends saw the funny side of the faux-pas!
They both added black patent pumps to their outfits, Nicky's are Christian Louboutin 'Pigalles', but styled their hair differently. Nicky also chose to add and waist-cinching black belt to her dress.
I'm finding it hard to chose which one I prefer but I think I'm going to have to go for Jaime as I do love a loose fitting dress! I also like that she's kept her hair up to keep the focus purely on her dress.
Someone from the French Connection press team has either got in a lot of trouble for loaning the same dress out to numerous celebs, or got a pay rise for drawing attention to the dresses through all these 'who wore it better' polls! Hmm, I'm going with the latter!
Which do you prefer? Jaime or Nicky?

Mollie King in Topshop
The Saturdays have been busy in the recording studio recently, putting the finishing touches to their new album. The paps have been out in force to catch them every time they arrive or leave the studio. The girls are big fans of the high street so we've had lots of sightings of them in their favourite brands.
Mollie King seems to be favouring Topshop at the moment as she has been spotted on three occassions wearing the brand.
While going out for food with bandmate Frankie Sandford she wore a sweat top over a Topshop black vest and added Topshop sunnies to her look.
On another occassion she chose to release her inner rock chick by adding a black leather Topshop gilet to her simple outfit of skinny jeans and a white vest. She added tan strappy platform heels and a roomy black bag.
She was also spotted out wearing this white Topshop smock top. She added dark indigo jeans, metallic sandals and a bright red purse to complete her look.
My favourite outfit is the second one, with the leather gilet. It's quite different from her usual girlie style.
What's your favourite?
Who wore it better? Carmen Electra vs. Brooke Burke
How embarrassing!
Carmen Electra and Brooke Burke both recently turned up to THE SAME EVENT wearing the same French Connection animal print dress!
Luckily they had different approaches in the way they styled their dresses! Carmen added a black blazer, black tights and pumps, a wide black belt and poker-straight hair.
Brooke, on the other hand, added a statement cuff, a black patent clutch and black patent heels. She wore her hair in a wavy style but she did add tights like Carmen.
For a Springtime event, I'm surprised either of them wore tights but I guess the dress would appear very short otherwise!
I much prefer Brooke's styling of the dress. What about you?

Emma Roberts in Topshop
Emma Roberts was recently spotted grabbing some coffee in LA wearing this Topshop crochet dress.
She kept the styling simple with black pumps and black sunnies and a tan cross-body bag to complete the look.
The dress has now sold out online but is still available in stores.

Taylor Swift in Zara
Taylor Swift was recently spotted in a Zara ensemble while on tour.
She paired her pleated skirt with a striped breton top. She added nude sandals and a tan satchel to keep the focus on her bright skirt.
This is a great, easy-to-wear look from Taylor.
You can buy her skirt here, £29.99.

Jessica Alba in Topshop
Jessica Alba, soon to be a mother of two, was recently spotted out and about running errands in LA wearing this Topshop floral summer dress. She chose to style hers more as a tunic, layering it over indigo skinny jeans, and adding a cream cardi and tan belt and wedges.
I like how Jessica always appears to work with items already in her wardrobe to accomodate her growing baby bump and style them differently.
Her street style is always on par with her red carpet style in my opinion.

Katie Holmes in Madewell
Katie Holmes was recently spotted at an event wearing this Madewell 'Terrace' dress. She paired her scalloped-hem dress with a white blazer and khaki suede ankle boots.
I would have lost the heavy boots from this look. If you cover up the feet with your hand, the look screams polished princess but the boots drag the look down in my opinion. Strappy heels would have worked better for me, to reflect the dainty nature of the dress.
What do you think?
You can buy Katie's dress here, $198.
Ellie Goulding in Topshop
OMG indeed!
Ellie Goulding was recently spotted leaving the recording studio in this bizarre get-up!
While the pieces individually are all very nice, together they just don't quite work . I think it's a case of going for what's fashionable (i.e. leather trousers) than what works well together for you.
I would have loved to have seen her wear this top tucked into denim cut-offs and with that leather jacket she's holding.
What do you think?
You can buy Ellie's top here, £18.
Pippa Middleton in Zara
Pippa Middleton was photographed looking remarkably fresh-faced the morning after the Royal Wedding while leaving the Goring Hotel in central London, en route to the family home in Berkshire.
After her triumphant Alexander McQueen bridesmaid dress the day before, Pippa chose to champion the high street wearing a royal blue Zara double-breasted blazer with gold brass buttons. She added it to an all-white outfit, which included Tory Burch pumps.
Of course, Pippa's blazer sold out almost immediately but you can still get hold of a very similar style in green or red here.
It will be interesting to see whether Kate and Pippa stick with their high st roots now that they're part of 'The Firm'.

Olivia Palermo in Mango, Topshop & Zara
Olivia Palermo is a huge fan of the high street. It is therefore no coincidence that she is often voted the 'best dressed' in polls!
A recent stroll through New York's Upper East Side was no exception as she wore her favourite Topshop Unique skirt, with a sage Mango shirt.
This is such an unexpected combo but it works so well together; it is definitely a style I will be trying on the not-so-windy days!
Olivia also wore this skirt when she attended the Matthew Williamson F/W '11 presentation during London Fashion week in February. On this occasion she teamed it with a Matthew Williamson chunky knit and brown Zara lace-up booties.
Which look do you prefer? Summer styling or Winter?

Frankie Sandford in Zara
Frankie Sandford from The Saturdays was recently spotted on a night out wearing this fab Zara red dress. I love the epaulettes on the shoulders which set it apart from any other LRD (Little Red Dress)!
I also love the way Frankie has styled her outfit with her black suede Carvela ankle boots. The only change I would have made is changing the black belt to a narrow leopard print style.
You can buy Frankie's dress here, £39.99.

Zoe Kravitz in Topshop
Zoe Kravitz is currently on the promotional trail for her new movie, 'X-Men: First Class'.
While attending an event earlier this week, she kept things casual, rocking a cropped leather jacket, loose cream vest, flouncy grey pleated skirt and these 'Walberg' black ankle strap wedges from Topshop. She added a necklace only by way of jewellery.
Zoe's look oozes effortless cool and, while on many others this look would be viewed as too casual for such an occassion, it perfectly exemplifies Zoe's style.

Mollie King in Lipsy and Topshop
Mollie King also attended the launch of Pixie Lott's Lipsy launch, along with her bandmate Rochelle Wiseman.
Unlike Rochelle, and the host herself, Mollie wore a Lipsy dress that was not part of Pixie's range. Her bandeau leopard print mini was paired with a Topshop tan leather wide double buckle belt, tan strappy heels, and a black envelope clutch.
I'm in love with this belt! I recently featured the same belt in red and now I'm torn over which colour I prefer!
Mollie's dress is not available online but you can get a similar one here.

Pixie Lott in Lipsy, part 2!
Pixie Lott wore two more looks from her new 'Pixie for Lipsy' launch last week at Chinawhites.
Following on from her white Jewel Collar Shift Dress, she then opted for a semi-sheer animal print maxi dress. She added a thin black belt, black platform peep-toes, and a black clutch to complete her 'Studio 54' vibe.
She then did a 180 and changed into a floral bandeau ruffle playsuit. She kept the belt and bag from the previous outfit, but switched it up by changing into black penny loafers, with black socks. Not many people could pull of this look, but Pixie does so with ease!
Having seen these two looks, my favourite is still the Jewel Collar Shift Dress. What's yours?

Who wore it better? Lourdes Ciccone vs. AnnaSophia Robb
Lourdes Ciccone, Madonna's daughter, and AnnaSophia Robb, who played Violet in Tim Burton's 'Alice in Wonderland', have both been spotted wearing this All Saints aztec print dress, although thankfully not at the same event!
Lourdes wore hers first, when she attended the Vanity Fair post-Oscars party with her mother, in February. She showed her punky personality but pairing the dress with black patent pumps, black leather wristbands, and poker straight hair.
AnnaSophia, on the other hand, went in the complete opposite direction and looked very cute, styling her dress with metallic peep-toes, wavy surfer-chick hair and a mega-watt smile, when she attended the Kids Choice Awards last month.
I'm a sucker for anything with an aztec print so I'm crazy for this dress. I think I's style it in much the same way as AnnaSophia.
What about you?
You can still buy this dress online, £295.
Pixie Lott in Office
Pixie Lott was recently spotted at the airport having arrived home from LA, looking very tanned and rocking some serious eye candy on her feet!
She jazzed up a simple outfit of a black body tucked high-waisted sorbet shorts with these 'Frank' coral leather brogues from Office.
These are the perfect addition to any outfit to inject it with some instant summer cool. They would look just as great with a short, flirty sundress, as they do with a simple shorts-and-tee combo!

Spot the difference! Tesco copy Reiss
Within barely hours of Kate Middleton wearing this Reiss 'Shola' dress, F&F at Tesco have created their very own replica!
Jan Marchant, Buying Director at Tesco says: "Our customers love Kate's look. She is now a true style icon and flying the flag for British high street fashion. Our similar dress is expected to sell-out fast. Many women want to emulate her elegant look and we are delighted to offer Kate inspired pieces at affordable prices."
Tesco's dress is priced at a very reasonable £30 and goes on sale June 13th on their website tesco.com/clothing.

Lindsay Lohan in Topshop
Before her recent house arrest, Lindsay Lohan was spotted on a couple of occassions recently wearing these leopard print 'Kosy' suede slippers by Topshop.
They're perfect for tapping into the ever-present animal print trend without having to worry about being confused with an extra from 'The Only Way Is Essex'!
Whilst I don't love Lindsay's outfits, the principle of teaming the shoes with a neutral look to keep them the main focal point is there. I would pair them with a simple outfit of black capri trousers, a loose black or white blazer and a casually tucked shirt for a 'drinks after work' vibe.
The slippers are no longer available on Topshop's UK or US website, but you can still purchase them in black or red.
