Amy Smart's shopping bag at French Connection

                    

 

Actress Amy Smart, who has starred in 'Just Friends' and 'Shameless', amongst others, recently visited the French Connection store in SoHo, New York. She left the store wearing the 'Holly' jacket.


She also picked up the 'Bethany' knitted vest, 'Apollo' crepe dress in teal, and the 'Rainbow Striped' Oversize   tee. I love the dress she bought! It will look great against her blonde hair and surfer tan so hopefully we see her at an event wearing that soon!

Celebrity to Realway: Jennifer Lopez

 

Actress and singer Jennifer Lopez attended the Samsung Hope for Children Gala at Cipriani Wall Street, in New York, earlier this week. She wore a red Temperley London Drape Shoulder Ruffle Cocktail Dress from the Fall 2011 ready-to-wear collection, and added Christian Louboutin 'Lady' nude peep-toe pumps. 


French Connection have created a similar dress to Jennifer's, in deep blue, which shares the same asymmetrical style and ruffle detail on the shoulder. French Connection's version nips in a the waist but has a flared skirt, so it is certainly a more forgiving choice if you don't have the body of J-Lo!


French Connection created their 'London' dress to celebrate London Fashion Week and gave it the bargain-tastic price of £35, considerably less than the average FC dress!

Myleene Klass in French Connection

TV presenter Myleene Klass, who is currently presenting ITV's 'Popstar to Operastar' was recently spotted on her way to a television centre with her adorable daughter Ava and newborn Hero. 

She was wearing a French Connection 'Sweet Pea Maxi Dress'. She teamed her floaty maxi with tan leather wooden-heel platforms and a black satchel.

Rachel Berry in French Connection

 

Lea Michele, in character as Rachel Berry, wore this French Connection 'Sydney' bow print jumper from French Connection on a recent episode of 'Glee'. 


This jumper is typically Rachel! Is it just me or is Rachel's style really improving this season? I'm finding some of her clothes really lust-worthy!

'Desperate Housewives' star Eva Longoria was recently spotted shopping in French Connection in New Orleans, U.S. 

She bought four items on her shopping trip, including 3 dresses and a playsuit. My favourite of her buys is the 'Thistkle' strappy playsuit as this just screams Eva to me- short and sassy.

Emma Watson in Topshop & French Connection

                    

 

'Harry Potter' star Emma Watson, who is nominated for 'Best Actress' at tonight's MTV Movie Awards, was recently spotted in Paris filming a commercial for Lancome with Mario Testino. 


In between takes she changed from her skyscraper heels into these beige Topshop 'Viola' ballet flats, which have a large flower detail. She also wore a French Connection Breton striped top and a flouncy grey skirt. 


While the individual components of Emma's outfit are nice, it seems quite a haphazard combination together! There will be a lot of pressure on Emma for the upcoming promotional trail for the last ever Harry Potter movie (!), especially as she was recently voted Glamour magazine's 'Best Dressed' woman in the world, beating Cheryl Cole, who came second, as well as Kate Moss, Alexa Chung, Blake Lively and Rihanna amongst others.


Personally, I think Emma's red carpet style, where she is styled by Caroline Sieber, is far superior to her street style, which doesn't stand out to me at all, save for that Glastonbury appearance in Louis Vuitton.

Brooke Vincent in French Connection

 

Brooke Vincent, who plays Sophie Webster in Coronation Street, was out partying last night for her upcoming 19th birthday this Saturday.


For the event, held out Rio Ferdinand's restaurant Rosso, Brooke chose to be the centre of attention wearing this gold all-over sequin 'Samantha' dress from French Connection. 


The short-sleeve, wrap-over mini dress also has an exposed zipper running down the back. Brooke teamed her dress with matching gold platform heels and added a pop of colour via her large purple clutch bag. 


I actually love this look! It's a very daring dress but if you can't wear it for your 19th birthday, when can you?

Who wore it better? Nicky Hilton vs. Jaime King

At the very same event as Carmen Electra and Brooke Burke, Jaime King and Nicky Hilton also wore the same French Connection dress as each other! Luckily the friends saw the funny side of the faux-pas!

They both added black patent pumps to their outfits, Nicky's are Christian Louboutin 'Pigalles', but styled their hair differently. Nicky also chose to add and waist-cinching black belt to her dress. 

I'm finding it hard to chose which one I prefer but I think I'm going to have to go for Jaime as I do love a loose fitting dress! I also like that she's kept her hair up to keep the focus purely on her dress.

Someone from the French Connection press team has either got in a lot of trouble for loaning the same dress out to numerous celebs, or got a pay rise for drawing attention to the dresses through all these 'who wore it better' polls! Hmm, I'm going with the latter!

Who wore it better? Carmen Electra vs. Brooke Burke

How embarrassing!

Carmen Electra and Brooke Burke both recently turned up to THE SAME EVENT wearing the same French Connection animal print dress!

Luckily they had different approaches in the way they styled their dresses! Carmen added a black blazer, black tights and pumps, a wide black belt and poker-straight hair. 

Brooke, on the other hand, added a statement cuff, a black patent clutch and black patent heels. She wore her hair in a wavy style but she did add tights like Carmen. 

For a Springtime event, I'm surprised either of them wore tights but I guess the dress would appear very short otherwise! 

I much prefer Brooke's styling of the dress. What about you?

Lorraine's High Street Fashion Awards

The winner's of ITV's Lorraine's annual High Street Fashion Awards were announced today. Winners were decided by a public vote, and a panel of experts, made up of Lorraine herself, Jo Elvin, Editor-in-Chief of Glamour magazine, singer Sophie Ellis Bextor, and Lorraine's resident style guru Mark Heyes.

And the winners are...

Primark won best affordable fashion.


New Look won best shoes.


Topshop won best trendsetter.


French Connection won best premium brand.


ASOS won best online retailer.


Debenhams won best department store.

Mollie King in French Connection

 
Mollie King from the Saturdays recently attended a charity event wearing this gorgeous French Connection Solar Swirl Dress. The crepe-georgette dress features a keyhole detail at the front and back and heavy embellishment. 


Mollie let her dress do the talking by adding heels and a bag in neutral shades. I would have loved to have seen her team this dress with silver strappy heels to match the embellishments on the dress. 


There is still a few sizes left of Mollie's dress, which is also available in manganese (dark purple/grey), £125.
